A late-blooming PGA Tour winner whose persistence and elegant swing made him a respected figure across multiple professional tours.
Olin Browne carved out a career defined by resilience and a classic golf swing. He turned professional in 1984 but didn't secure his PGA Tour card until he was 32, a testament to his dogged pursuit. His breakthrough came in 1998 at the Hartford Open, where he held off a charging field for his first Tour victory. Browne was never the most prolific winner, but he was a consistent craftsman, adding two more PGA Tour titles, including a memorable 2005 Deutsche Bank Championship win. His game aged gracefully, finding a second act on the PGA Tour Champions, where he added multiple senior titles. Known for his thoughtful demeanor and precise ball-striking, Browne's journey from qualifier to champion served as an inspiration for golfers who found their best form later in life.

Olin was born in 1959, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
