Biography
Mirko Filipović, known as Mirko Cro Cop, won the 2006 PRIDE Open-Weight Grand Prix by knocking out Wanderlei Silva. A former anti-terrorism police officer, he carried that stoic demeanor into the ring during PRIDE FC's peak years. His left high kick felled opponents with chilling precision, producing brutal knockouts against Igor Vovchanchyn and Silva. He never captured the PRIDE heavyweight title, but his methodical, hunter-like approach made him the sport's most feared striker. Cro Cop also competed in K-1 kickboxing, proving his stand-up skills were world-class. He operated with ruthless efficiency in MMA's most chaotic era.
