A Social Democratic politician from Styria who represented his region's industrial heartland, focusing on economic and social policy in the Austrian parliament.
Maximilian 'Max' Lercher's political path was rooted in local representation before reaching the national stage. A member of Austria's Social Democratic Party (SPÖ), he first served for eight years in the Styrian state parliament, building a foundation in regional issues. In 2019, he was elected to the National Council, representing the industrial and mountainous region of Upper Styria. His political work centered on the concerns of workers, regional economic development, and social welfare, typical of his party's traditional strongholds. After a single term, his tenure in the national legislature concluded in 2024, marking a chapter of advocacy for his home constituency within Austria's federal system.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Max was born in 1986, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
