A granite-tough prop whose relentless work in the middle anchored the North Queensland Cowboys to their historic first NRL premiership.
Matthew Scott, known universally as 'Thumper', carved out a reputation as one of the most uncompromising and respected front-rowers of his generation. Hailing from Queensland, his entire 14-season NRL career was a study in loyalty and grit, spent with the North Queensland Cowboys. While his powerful runs and defensive steel were his trademarks, his legacy is inextricably linked to the club's 2015 Grand Final victory, where his monumental performance through a broken nose set a standard of courage. Off the field, Scott battled and overcame testicular cancer, an experience he spoke about openly to raise awareness. His career, which included representing Queensland in State of Origin and Australia, is remembered not for flashy plays, but for the foundational toughness upon which championships are built.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Matthew was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
