A creative fullback whose silky playmaking and clutch kicking redefined his position for the Penrith Panthers and Cronulla Sharks.
Matt Moylan emerged from the St. Patrick's College system in Sydney with a reputation as a gifted playmaker, making his NRL debut for the Penrith Panthers in 2013. His early years were marked by a natural flair that seemed to slow the game down around him, earning him the Panthers' captaincy and a State of Origin debut for New South Wales in 2016. A move to the Cronulla Sharks in 2018 saw him settle into the fullback role with distinction, where his ball-playing and tactical kicking became a central feature of their attack. While injuries periodically interrupted his momentum, his career is remembered for those stretches of sublime skill that could unlock any defense. His retirement closed the chapter on a player whose best football was a blend of instinctive vision and calm execution.
