A British actress who broke new ground as the Doctor's first regular companion of Pakistani heritage, bringing warmth and modernity to the TARDIS.
Mandip Gill played Yasmin Khan, a companion to Jodie Whittaker's Thirteenth Doctor on 'Doctor Who'. She studied acting at the University of Central Lancashire before landing her first major role as Phoebe McQueen on 'Hollyoaks'. Her five-year stint on the soap built her craft through theatre and television work. Casting as Yasmin Khan catapulted her into the sci-fi spotlight. Stepping into the TARDIS, Gill portrayed Yasmin with grounded empathy and curiosity. Her tenure spanned three series and specials, exploring family, identity, and cosmic responsibility. The dynamic refreshed a new generation of viewers.

Mandip was born in 1988, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
