An ice dancer whose dramatic power and emotional intensity with partner Zachary Donohue made them America's premier team for a decade.
Madison Hubbell brought a rare theatrical fire to the ice, a quality that defined her storied partnership with Zachary Donohue. After early career setbacks with a previous partner, her union with Donohue in 2011 clicked with immediate, combustible chemistry. They were not the most classically pristine team; their strength was in raw, powerful skating and programs that leaned into dark, passionate storytelling. Under the guidance of coaches Marie-France Dubreuil and Patrice Lauzon in Montreal, they refined that power into world-beating consistency. Their career was a crescendo: national titles, world medals, and a crowning Olympic team silver and bronze in the team and individual events in Beijing. Hubbell retired as one of the most decorated American ice dancers, having left an indelible mark with her commanding presence and emotional depth.

Madison was born in 1991, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
