A rugged and versatile back-rower whose relentless work ethic carried him from Penrith junior to premiership hero with Cronulla.
Luke Lewis built a long and decorated career in the NRL not on flashy highlights, but on an unyielding engine and a team-first mentality. A local product of the Penrith Panthers, he debuted as a teenager and quickly became a fixture, his athleticism allowing him to excel in the centres, back row, and even at lock. After over a decade and more than 200 games for the Panthers, including a painful grand final loss in 2003, he sought a fresh start with the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks. There, his veteran leadership and hard-nosed play proved instrumental. In 2016, he was a central figure in the Sharks' historic first premiership victory, a fitting reward for one of the game's most respected and durable competitors.
