A character actor of formidable presence, moving seamlessly from a heroic vampire slayer on 'Buffy' to a man with nuclear powers on 'Heroes.'
Leonard Roberts built a career on bringing grounded strength to genre television. A Chicago native and NYU Tisch School of the Arts graduate, he first gained attention as the stoic vampire hunter Forrest Gates on the fourth season of 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer.' This role showcased his ability to embody quiet, physical authority. He later broke into films with a memorable turn as the stern band leader Sean Taylor in the drumline drama 'Drumline.' His most prominent role came as D.L. Hawkins, a fugitive with the power to phase through matter, on the first season of NBC's hit series 'Heroes.' Roberts brought a weary humanity and protective intensity to the character, making him a fan favorite. While often cast in action-oriented parts, his performances consistently reveal layers of vulnerability and moral complexity, making him a reliable and compelling presence across a wide array of television and film projects for over two decades.

Leonard was born in 1972, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
