A late-blooming attacking force whose intelligence and clutch performances defined Borussia Mönchengladbach's rise and earned him a surprise national team call-up.
Lars Stindl's career is a story of persistence and footballing intelligence triumphing over conventional athleticism. He spent his formative years at Karlsruher SC, developing a reputation as a clever, technically sound attacker rather than a speedster. A move to Hannover 96 brought him to the Bundesliga, but it was his 2015 transfer to Borussia Mönchengladbach where he truly flourished. Under manager Dieter Hecking, Stindl was deployed as a 'false nine,' using his vision and positioning to orchestrate play and arrive in the box at the perfect moment. His leadership was recognized with the captain's armband, and he spearheaded Gladbach's return to European competition. In a crowning moment, his consistent excellence earned him a debut for the German national team at age 29, and he famously scored the winning goal in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup final.

Lars was born in 1988, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
