A fierce striker-based wrestler from Japan whose brutal, realistic style and invented moves became foundational techniques for global superstars in WWE and AEW.
Kenta Kobayashi, known simply as KENTA, didn't just wrestle; he fought. Emerging from the gritty dojo of Pro Wrestling Noah in the early 2000s, he rejected flamboyance for a stark, violent authenticity rooted in his kickboxing past. His matches were percussive symphonies of stiff kicks, sharp elbows, and an unsettling aura of legitimate danger. In Noah, he became a cornerstone, capturing the GHC Heavyweight Championship and defining the 'NOAH style' for a generation. His true legacy, however, was exported. The finishing moves he crafted—the thunderous Go 2 Sleep knee strike and the running Busaiku Knee—were adopted and popularized worldwide by CM Punk and Bryan Danielson, respectively, making him an uncredited architect of modern wrestling's vocabulary. A later stint in WWE as Hideo Itami introduced his philosophy to a new audience, though injuries hampered his run. KENTA remains a purist's icon, a man whose influence is felt in the bone-jarring strikes of main-event matches across the planet.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Kenta was born in 1981, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
