A sparkplug utility player whose infectious energy and clutch hitting made him a fan favorite and a two-time All-Star in Pittsburgh.
Josh Harrison carved out a 12-year Major League Baseball career not with overwhelming physical tools, but with versatility, hustle, and a knack for timely hits. Drafted by the Chicago Cubs, he found his home with the Pittsburgh Pirates, where his ability to play almost every position on the field made him invaluable. Standing just 5'8", Harrison played with a palpable joy and intensity that endeared him to fans. His breakout came in 2014 when he earned his first All-Star selection, hitting over .300 and finishing ninth in MVP voting. He repeated as an All-Star in 2017, the same year he played a key role off the bench for Team USA, helping them secure their first World Baseball Classic gold medal. After his time in Pittsburgh, he became a respected veteran journeyman, bringing his trademark grit to several clubs before retiring in 2024.
