A powerful, unpredictable centre whose NRL career was marked by breathtaking athleticism and dramatic on-field moments.
Joseph Leilua played 224 NRL games for the Sydney Roosters, Newcastle Knights, Canberra Raiders, and Wests Tigers. Debuting as a teenager with the Roosters, he built a reputation around sheer physical power and offloading ability that produced constant highlight-reel moments. At his peak with the Raiders, he formed a devastating centre partnership and earned selection in the Dally M Team of the Year. His game featured 'no-look' passes and a formidable fend, driven by pure instinct and entertainment value. Spectacular tries and game-breaking plays alternated with disciplinary controversies across his career. After his NRL tenure, Leilua continued playing in lower-tier competitions, his talent never in question even as he sought consistency.

Joseph was born in 1991, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
