A gritty, contact-hitting outfielder whose consistent play and clubhouse presence made him a valued contributor to a World Series champion and a dozen MLB teams.
Jon Jay's baseball story is one of quiet, relentless professionalism. Drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals out of the University of Miami, he never fit the mold of a power-hitting superstar. Instead, Jay built an impressive 12-year career on the foundation of a reliable .283 lifetime batting average, a sharp eye at the plate, and solid defensive work in the outfield. He was a key role player for the Cardinals' 2011 World Series championship team, providing crucial hits and steady energy. Jay became a baseball journeyman in the best sense, playing for seven different clubs and earning respect in every clubhouse for his work ethic and positive attitude. This reputation led him naturally into coaching, and he returned to the Cardinals organization to help mold the next generation of players.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Jon was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
