A composer and broadcaster who transformed a sports anthem into a lifelong brand of uplifting music and positive-living advice.
John Tesh's career is a study in optimistic reinvention. First gaining national attention as an anchor for 'Entertainment Tonight,' he leveraged that visibility into an unexpected second act as a musician. His instrumental piece 'Roundball Rock,' written for NBC's NBA coverage, became an iconic sports anthem, its triumphant brass hooks synonymous with basketball for a generation. He parlayed that success into a series of live concert specials on PBS, where his blend of pop, new age, and gospel music found a massive, devoted audience. Tesh then pivoted again, becoming a radio and television host with 'Intelligence for Your Life,' a syndicated program he co-hosts with his wife, Connie Sellecca, dispensing practical, positive advice on health, relationships, and personal growth, solidifying his persona as an earnest guide to better living.

John was born in 1952, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
