A former teen actor who deftly pivoted behind the camera to become a sharp architect of modern studio comedies.
John Francis Daley’s career is a masterclass in creative evolution. First known as the nervously endearing Sam Weir on the short-lived but beloved 'Freaks and Geeks', he later spent a decade playing the boyish FBI psychologist Dr. Lance Sweets on 'Bones'. But his true calling was always in the writer’s room. Teaming with director Jonathan Goldstein, Daley co-wrote the clever heist comedy 'Horrible Bosses', proving he understood the mechanics of crowd-pleasing humor. The duo then executed a stunning revival with 'Vacation', a legacy sequel that balanced nostalgia with its own anarchic voice. Their biggest coup came with 2018's 'Game Night', a critically adored thriller-comedy that showcased a precise, stylish directorial hand. This led to the ultimate fan assignment: co-writing and directing 'Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves', where Daley’s lifelong passion for role-playing games fused with his blockbuster sensibilities to create a film celebrated for its heart and humor.

John was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
