A lockdown defender with flamboyant style who clinched an NBA title and later danced his way to victory on reality TV.
Iman Shumpert burst onto the NBA scene with the New York Knicks, a first-round pick known immediately for his defensive tenacity and an audacious flat-top haircut. His ability to pester opposing guards made him a fan favorite at Madison Square Garden. A mid-season trade in 2015 sent him to the Cleveland Cavaliers, where he became a crucial rotational piece on a team built around LeBron James. He provided defensive grit and timely three-point shooting during the Cavaliers' historic 2016 championship run, which ended a 52-year title drought for Cleveland. After journeyman stints with several other teams, he retired from basketball and surprised audiences by winning season 30 of 'Dancing with the Stars' with professional dancer Daniella Karagach, showcasing a charismatic versatility far beyond the court.
