A Bermudian singer-songwriter with a soaring, ethereal voice who carved a distinct path in the 90s alternative and folk-rock scenes.
Heather Nova's music is inextricably linked to the ocean. Growing up on a 40-foot sailboat in Bermuda, the rhythms of the sea shaped her artistic sensibility. She emerged in the early 1990s with a sound that blended raw, folky introspection with bursts of electric guitar-driven rock, all anchored by her distinctive, tremulous vocal delivery. Her 1993 debut 'Glow Stars' caught attention, but it was the 1994 single 'Walk This World' that became a breakout hit on alternative radio, introducing her passionate songwriting to a global audience. Albums like 'Oyster' and 'Siren' solidified her status as a compelling live performer and a songwriter unafraid to explore emotional depths. While never chasing mainstream pop trends, Nova has maintained a steadfast, direct connection with her audience over eleven studio albums, cultivating a loyal international following drawn to her authentic, atmospheric craft.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Heather was born in 1967, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
