A dynamic and attacking right-back who became a beloved one-club legend at Fenerbahçe, defining an era for the Turkish giants.
Gökhan Gönül made 350-plus appearances for Fenerbahçe across 13 seasons, becoming the club's defining right-back of the 2010s. Signed from Hacettepe in 2007, he combined defensive duties with attacking runs that produced pinpoint crosses and timely goals in Süper Lig title races. Gönül won multiple Turkish Cups with the Yellow Canaries and represented Turkey at European Championships, though his impact remained most deeply tied to Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium. His explosive pace and consistent delivery set a standard for full-backs in Turkish football. Born in 1985, he spent his prime years in Istanbul before moving to Beşiktaş and later Başakşehir, but his legacy never left the navy-and-yellow jersey where he redefined the position.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Gökhan was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
