A midfield dynamo for Great Britain's hockey team whose vision and skill were central to securing Olympic gold in Rio.
Georgie Twigg emerged as one of the most intelligent and composed midfielders of her generation in British hockey. A product of the University of Birmingham's high-performance system, she broke into the England and Great Britain squads as a teenager, quickly establishing herself with her technical precision and tactical awareness. Her career trajectory was one of steady ascent, peaking at the 2016 Rio Olympics. There, as a key playmaker, she helped orchestrate a historic campaign that culminated in a dramatic shootout victory over the Netherlands, delivering Britain's first-ever women's Olympic hockey gold. Beyond her on-field brilliance, Twigg balanced elite sport with a legal career, studying law and training as a solicitor, showcasing a formidable discipline that translated seamlessly from the pitch to the courtroom.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Georgie was born in 1990, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
