A sharp political strategist from Florida who navigated from backroom campaign mastermind to a brief but consequential term in the U.S. Senate.
George LeMieux built his career in the intricate machinery of Florida politics, known more as a trusted fixer than a spotlight-seeking politician. A lawyer by trade, he first made his mark as the chief strategist behind Charlie Crist's successful 2006 gubernatorial campaign, earning the nickname 'The Maestro' for his orchestration of the victory. He served as Crist's chief of staff, wielding significant influence over state policy. His behind-the-scenes prowess led to his most public role: in 2009, Crist, then governor, appointed LeMieux to fill a vacant U.S. Senate seat. During his 16-month term, he maintained a fiscally conservative record, notably opposing the Affordable Care Act. After his appointed service, he returned to law and business, remaining a influential voice in Florida's Republican circles.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
George was born in 1969, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
