A goaltender whose career highlight was a stunning, pressure-filled playoff run for the Montreal Canadiens as an emergency rookie call-up.
Dustin Tokarski's name is etched in Montreal Canadiens playoff lore. A solid, championship-winning goalie in the minor leagues, his moment in the NHL spotlight arrived suddenly in the 2014 Eastern Conference Finals. When starter Carey Price was injured, Tokarski, a rookie with minimal experience, was thrust into the net against the New York Rangers. He responded with a series of breathtaking, composed performances, nearly backstopping the underdog Habs to the Stanley Cup Final. While he settled into the life of a professional journeyman afterward, playing for several NHL clubs and later in European leagues, that one brilliant playoff series defined his public legacy. It was a testament to the readiness and mental fortitude required of a backup goaltender.

Dustin was born in 1989, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
