A commanding, no-nonsense Croatian defender whose physical presence has anchored backlines in Europe's top leagues.
Duje Ćaleta-Car carved his path from the youth pitches of Croatia to the pressure cookers of Ligue 1 and the Premier League with a single, reliable product: defensive solidity. Standing well over six feet tall, he developed a reputation as an old-school, aerially dominant centre-back during his formative years at Red Bull Salzburg and his subsequent stint at Marseille. His time in France established him as a mainstay, a player trusted to marshal the defense with a blend of brute strength and tactical reading. This earned him a move to the English top flight with Southampton and later a loan to Lyon, before settling at Real Sociedad in Spain. While not a flashy player, his consistency and physicality have made him a valuable asset for club and country, including a run to the 2018 World Cup final with Croatia.

Duje was born in 1996, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
