Biography

For 16 seasons in the NFL, Duane Brown was the immovable object on football's most critical frontier: the quarterback's blind side. Drafted in the first round by the Houston Texans out of Virginia Tech, where he transitioned from tight end, Brown quickly established himself as a model of technical proficiency and durability. He wasn't the loudest player, but his value was measured in the quiet consistency of perfect pass sets and the sudden openings he created in the run game. A three-time Pro Bowler and first-team All-Pro with the Texans, his career took a pivotal turn when he was traded to the Seattle Seahawks in 2017, where he immediately stabilized a struggling offensive line and helped usher in a new era for the franchise. Brown’s game was built on footwork, film study, and a veteran's poise, allowing him to play at a high level into his late thirties, finishing his career as a respected leader who protected star quarterbacks from Matt Schaub to Russell Wilson.

Millennials

1981–1996

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.

Duane was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
