A Canadian football player who later forged a successful second act in Hollywood as a film producer and musician.
Doug Falconer lived two distinct, successful lives: one on the gridiron and one in the glamour of Hollywood. The Vancouver native first made his name as a durable and versatile player in the Canadian Football League, primarily as a slotback and kick returner for the B.C. Lions. His athletic career was solid, but it was merely the opening act. After hanging up his cleats, Falconer channeled his drive into the entertainment industry, founding the production company Insight Film Studios. He proved to have a keen eye for marketable stories, producing a string of television movies and series that found consistent success, particularly on networks like Hallmark. Parallel to this, he nurtured a lifelong passion for music, writing, recording, and performing as a singer-songwriter. His journey from the muddy fields of the CFL to the soundstages of Los Angeles is a testament to versatile talent and entrepreneurial spirit.

The largest generation in history at the time. Shaped by postwar prosperity, the Vietnam War, the sexual revolution, and Watergate. They questioned every institution their parents built — then ran them.
Doug was born in 1952, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
