A shrewd political operator and loyal lieutenant in Jean Chrétien's government, known for mastering House of Commons procedure.
Don Boudria's political career was built on reliability and tactical skill rather than headline-grabbing rhetoric. Elected as a Liberal MP in 1984, he spent years in the trenches of opposition before rising to prominence as a key player in Jean Chrétien's majority governments. His most visible role was as Government House Leader, where his deep understanding of parliamentary rules and talent for negotiation were crucial in managing the legislative agenda and maintaining party discipline. Boudria was the kind of minister who got things done behind the scenes, a fixer trusted by the Prime Minister to steer complex bills through a sometimes fractious House. His tenure, however, was not without controversy, facing ethical challenges that tested his resilience. After leaving politics in 2006, he translated his insider knowledge into a role as a government relations advisor, remaining a fixture in Ottawa's power corridors.

The largest generation in history at the time. Shaped by postwar prosperity, the Vietnam War, the sexual revolution, and Watergate. They questioned every institution their parents built — then ran them.
Don was born in 1949, placing them squarely in the Baby Boomers. The events that shaped this generation — postwar prosperity, civil rights, Vietnam, and the counterculture — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
