Biography

Dennis Lyxzén emerged from the small industrial town of Umeå, Sweden, as a vortex of punk energy and radical thought. In the early 1990s, he co-founded Refused, a band that quickly evolved from straightforward hardcore into something fiercely intellectual and musically unbound. Lyxzén wasn't just a singer; he was a polemicist, delivering sermons on stage against capitalism and conformity with a visceral intensity that left audiences shattered. The band's 1998 album 'The Shape of Punk to Come' was a complex, jazz-infused grenade that predicted its own cult status before the group famously broke up. Lyxzén never stopped. He channeled his ideals into The (International) Noise Conspiracy's danceable agitprop and later, the moody post-punk of INVSN, proving his creative fire burned far beyond one legendary band's implosion.

Generation X

1965–1980

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.

Dennis was born in 1972, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
