A pragmatic Queensland politician who rose from local government to lead his state, focusing on housing and infrastructure challenges.
David Crisafulli’s path to the premiership of Queensland was rooted in hands-on community service. Before state politics, he served as the mayor of the City of Gold Coast's northern division and as a city councilor, giving him a ground-level view of the issues facing growing communities. Elected to the state parliament in 2017, he quickly ascended within the Liberal National Party, taking on the leadership in 2020. His approach is often described as methodical and consultative, a style honed during his early career as a journalist. As Premier, he has placed a central emphasis on addressing a housing crisis and managing the state's rapid population growth, positioning himself as a solutions-oriented leader for a dynamic region.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
David was born in 1979, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
