Biography
Dave Holland's story is one of solid, unflinching reliability behind the kit. He cut his teeth with the rock band Trapeze for a decade, honing a powerful and technically proficient style. In 1979, he was recruited by Judas Priest, stepping into a role that required anchoring one of the world's most formidable metal acts. His drumming, characterized by its formidable double-bass work and martial precision, drove the band through its most successful era, including the multi-platinum 'British Steel' and 'Screaming for Vengeance'. For ten years, Holland's relentless tempo was the foundation upon which the twin guitars soared. His departure from the band in 1989 marked the end of a definitive chapter in metal history, though his later life was marred by legal troubles.
