The powerhouse drummer whose explosive beats and musical versatility helped propel Imagine Dragons to global rock dominance.
Daniel Platzman, an Atlanta-born musician, brought a formal music education and raw rhythmic power to the world of pop rock. A graduate of the Berklee College of Music, he was a multi-instrumentalist with a deep understanding of composition and production long before joining Imagine Dragons. Recruited in 2011, his arrival solidified the band's lineup, and his dynamic, often thunderous drumming became a foundational element of their anthemic sound. Beyond keeping time, Platzman contributed significantly to the band's songwriting and sonic architecture, helping craft hits that dominated airwaves and arenas. His work behind the kit provided the relentless drive for songs like 'Radioactive' and 'Believer,' making him an integral part of one of the 2010s' most successful rock acts until his departure in 2023.
