A musical comedian who turned absurdist humor and synth-pop anthems into a massive, devoted online following.
Dan Avidan, better known to fans as Danny Sexbang, didn't set out to be an internet cornerstone. Starting with improv and sketch comedy, his path shifted when he teamed with physicist Brian Wecht to form Ninja Sex Party, a duo that wrapped catchy 80s-inspired melodies around hilariously explicit lyrics. That project's success bled into his other major venture: co-hosting the long-running Let's Play series Game Grumps with animator Arin Hanson. On the show, Avidan's warm, often melodramatic commentary and surprisingly strong singing voice became a signature. He has since expanded his musical range, lending soaring vocals to the literary-inspired rock of Shadow Academy and returning to the moody electronic roots of his earlier group, Skyhill. His career is a testament to building genuine community through unapologetic silliness and unexpected talent.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Dan was born in 1979, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
