A hard-nosed, point-scoring forward who became the heart of the Roosters' golden era before molding a new generation as a shrewd NRL head coach.
Craig Fitzgibbon's career is etched in effort. As a player, he was the relentless workhorse, a second-rower with a goalkicker's precision, who became synonymous with the Sydney Roosters' resurgence in the early 2000s. His engine never quit, his tackles were fierce, and his boot was reliably accurate, making him a fan idol and the team's spiritual core during their 2002 premiership win. After hanging up his boots, he didn't stray far from the grind, learning the coaching craft under master tactician Craig Bellamy at the Melbourne Storm. This apprenticeship honed his strategic mind, preparing him for the top job. Taking the helm at the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks, Fitzgibbon instilled the same defensive steel and disciplined work ethic that defined his playing days, quickly transforming the team's identity and proving his transition from on-field leader to sideline commander was complete.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Craig was born in 1977, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
