A versatile hitmaker in Greek pop, he crafted anthems for a generation before engineering Greece's first Eurovision victory with 'My Number One'.
Christos Dantis has been a constant, crafty presence in Greek popular music since the late 1980s. He first emerged as a performer with a rock edge, but his true talent proved to be songwriting—an innate sense for a sticky melody and radio-friendly arrangement. His own hits, like the melancholic 'To Palio Mou Palto,' established him as a major artist. However, his influence expanded behind the boards. As a producer and songwriter for others, he helped shape the sound of contemporary Greek pop. The pinnacle of this work came in 2005 when he, along with lyricist Natalia Germanou, composed 'My Number One' for Elena Paparizou. The song's infectious energy and anthemic quality propelled it to win the Eurovision Song Contest, a first for Greece and a national moment of celebration. Dantis never retreated into the background; he continued to release his own music and produce for a new generation, maintaining his status as a central architect of the Greek pop landscape.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Christos was born in 1966, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
