A versatile forward who carved out an international career after a late switch from rugby union, embodying the modern hybrid athlete.
Chris McQueen's path to the England rugby league jersey was anything but orthodox. Initially a rugby union prospect in Australia, he switched codes in his early twenties, signing with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL. His athleticism and work rate saw him become a key figure in the Rabbitohs' forward pack, culminating in a premiership victory in 2014. His form was so compelling it earned him a call-up to the England national team in 2017, a rare feat for a player who hadn't come through the UK's developmental system. McQueen's career is a testament to adaptability, proving that raw talent and determination could bridge the gap between two distinct footballing worlds, finishing his playing days back in Queensland with a veteran's leadership.

Chris was born in 1987, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
