Puerto Rican wrestling powerhouse known as El Chicano, who conquered every title in his home promotion to become a universal champion.
In the vibrant, chaotic world of Puerto Rican lucha libre, Carlos Cotto carved out a reputation as an indestructible force. Performing under the moniker El Chicano, he blended raw power with the island's signature high-flying style, becoming a cornerstone of the International Wrestling Association (IWA). His career is defined by a singular feat of dominance: he is the only wrestler to have captured every eligible championship within the IWA, a clean sweep that announced his total command of the promotion. This local supremacy translated into a reign as the Universal Heavyweight Champion in the storied World Wrestling Council, Puerto Rico's most traditional wrestling outfit. Cotto also tested his skills abroad in Mexico's major leagues, AAA and CMLL, bringing his brawling intensity to new audiences. More than just a champion, he became a standard-bearer for Puerto Rican wrestling in the 2000s, a bruising icon in the mask of El Chicano.

Carlos was born in 1980, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
