The 'Iceman' from Switzerland whose blistering, all-round mastery on the slopes delivered an unforgettable World Cup and Olympic gold double.
Carlo Janka won Olympic gold in the giant slalom at Vancouver in 2010. He also clinched the World Cup overall crystal globe that same season. The 'Iceman' from Obersaxen stunned the alpine world by winning three consecutive races at Beaver Creek in 2009/10. His skiing was defined by powerful, clean lines and consistency across technical and speed events. Injuries later curtailed his reign, but that one magnificent winter marked him as one of Switzerland's most complete champions.
