An Australian actor who leapt from soap opera heartthrob to anchoring major Hollywood franchises as a brooding Robin and a swashbuckling pirate.
Brenton Thwaites cut his teeth on Australian television, where his good looks and natural screen presence quickly made him a standout on shows like 'Home and Away.' His move to Hollywood was swift and ambitious, leading to a mix of genre roles that tested his range. He faced supernatural horror in 'Oculus,' ventured into dystopian drama in 'The Giver,' and took on mythological spectacle in 'Gods of Egypt.' His big franchise break arrived when he was cast as Henry Turner, the son of Orlando Bloom's character, in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales,' sailing into one of cinema's most famous worlds. He then dove into the DC Universe, landing the physically and emotionally demanding lead role of Dick Grayson on the series 'Titans.' For five seasons, he charted the character's evolution from a frustrated Robin to the independent hero Nightwing, bringing a grounded intensity to a beloved comic book figure and finding a dedicated fanbase in the process.
