A powerhouse prop who transformed from a late-blooming rookie into a State of Origin representative through pure physical force and resilience.
Brenton Lawrence played for Queensland in the 2014 State of Origin series, the pinnacle of Australian rugby league. Born in 1984, he did not make his NRL debut until age 26, working as a carpenter and playing in the Queensland Cup before his breakthrough. He joined the Gold Coast Titans in 2012, impressing with aggressive running and defense. A move to the Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles in 2013 turned his career, making him a cornerstone of their forward pack. Lawrence's journey from tradesman to Origin player showed the value of persistence.
