A commanding Norwegian defender who became a cult hero in English football, known for his towering presence and sharp intellect on and off the pitch.
Brede Hangeland anchored Fulham's defense during their run to the 2010 UEFA Europa League final. Born in Houston, Texas, to a Norwegian father and American mother, he chose to represent Norway internationally. Standing over six feet tall, he combined physical strength with composure on the ball. He moved from Viking FK to the English Premier League in 2008. At Craven Cottage under Roy Hodgson, he formed a strong defensive partnership. He later played for Crystal Palace, providing veteran stability. Hangeland retired as one of the most respected Scandinavian defenders in Premier League history.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Brede was born in 1981, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
