A seven-foot colossus who dominated wrestling for decades, switching from monstrous villain to beloved giant with surprising agility and wit.
Paul Wight won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in 1995 as 'The Giant,' a character modeled on Andre the Giant, shortly after being discovered playing college basketball. He debuted in the WWF in 1999 by throwing Steve Austin through a steel cage. Over 25 years, Wight performed power moves and dropkicks, evolving from a silent destroyer into a charismatic fan favorite who delivered the catchphrase 'Well...' with comedic timing. His versatility made him a staple of WWE programming across multiple eras before he moved to AEW.
