A Brazilian rhythmic gymnast who broke new ground for her nation, becoming its first to reach the World Championship all-around final.
Bárbara Domingos dedicated her youth to rhythmic gymnastics, a sport long dominated by European and Asian athletes. Born in 2000, she became a trailblazer for Brazilian gymnastics. The breakthrough came in 2023: she won the Pan American Championships all-around title and took a Grand Prix gold in Thiais for her ribbon routine. That same year, she became the first Brazilian ever to qualify for the individual all-around final at the World Championships, shattering a ceiling for her country. Her journey culminated at the 2024 Paris Olympics, where she again qualified for the individual all-around final, putting Brazilian rhythmic gymnastics on the global map.

Born into smartphones, social media, and school shootings. The most diverse generation in history. Pragmatic about money, fluid about identity, anxious about the climate. They do not remember a world before the internet.
Bárbara was born in 2000, placing them squarely in the Generation Z. The events that shaped this generation — social media, climate anxiety, and a pandemic — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
