Sascha Ring, operating as Apparat, composed the haunting theme for the Netflix series 'Dark.' Emerging from the Berlin scene in the late 1990s, he co-ran the Shitkatapult label and initially produced tracks geared for the dancefloor. A restless creative impulse took over. Ring pulled his music away from rhythmic propulsion toward atmospheric depth, sculpting soundscapes instead of programming beats. This shift produced albums like 'Walls' and 'The Devil's Walk,' where his fragile, melancholic vocals floated over intricate, glitch-ridden tapestries of sound.
