A German soprano whose luminous voice and dramatic intelligence have made her a defining interpreter of Mozart and Wagner on the world's greatest stages.
Annette Dasch’s path to the opera stage was unconventional; she initially studied journalism and German literature before her voice demanded center stage. Trained in Berlin and New York, she possesses a soprano noted for its silvery clarity and remarkable flexibility, qualities that quickly made her a favorite in the Mozart repertoire. Her breakthrough came with major roles at the Salzburg Festival, and she soon graced the podiums of La Scala, the Vienna State Opera, and the Metropolitan Opera. Dasch is not confined to the 18th century, however. Her portrayal of Elsa in Wagner's 'Lohengrin' at the Bayreuth Festival marked a significant expansion into dramatic roles, showcasing her power and emotional depth. Beyond opera, she is a committed concert singer, bringing a refined artistry to lieder and orchestral works, and has become a familiar voice on German television as a host of classical music programs.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Annette was born in 1976, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
