An Italian foil maestro whose technical brilliance and competitive ferocity earned him a complete set of world titles and Olympic gold.
Andrea Baldini became the first fencer to sweep the World Cup season, winning the overall title four times. The Tuscan foil specialist used explosive speed and tactical intelligence to dominate international fencing for a decade. A doping suspension kept him from the 2008 Olympic individual event. He rebounded to win Olympic team gold at London 2012. Baldini also captured World and European championships. He is one of Italy's most decorated modern fencers.

Andrea was born in 1985, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
