A foundational figure in Norwegian extreme metal, shaping the sound of black and death metal as a musician and producer.
Anders Odden is a quiet architect of the Norwegian metal scene, his career a thread running through its most infamous and influential chapters. He co-founded the death metal band Cadaver in the late 80s, a raw and pioneering force. His versatility saw him become a live session guitarist for the iconic Mayhem during a turbulent period, grounding their chaotic sound on stage worldwide. Beyond performing, Odden's work as a producer and collaborator has been immense; his studio work with acts like Satyricon helped define the polished yet ferocious sound of second-wave black metal. He also leads the industrial metal project Celtic Frost, a direct and personal homage to one of his own inspirations. Odden operates more like a skilled engineer in the background, his fingerprints on the machinery of an entire musical movement.

The latchkey kids. Raised during divorce, recession, and the end of the Cold War. Skeptical, self-reliant, media-literate. They invented indie culture, grunge, and the early internet — then watched the Boomers take credit.
Anders was born in 1972, placing them squarely in the Generation X. The events that shaped this generation — economic uncertainty, the end of the Cold War, and the rise of personal computing — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
