A goalkeeper who swapped the green and gold of Australia for the red and yellow of Macedonia, charting a unique international path.
Born in the Australian city of Perth in 1988, Aleks Vrteski's football journey began far from the European pitches he would later grace. His talent between the posts emerged early, leading him to the youth ranks of Perth Glory. His professional career, however, found its most significant chapter in the Australian National Soccer League and later the A-League, where his reflexes and command of the penalty area stood out. Vrteski's international story is a tale of two nations. He first pulled on the gloves for Australia at the youth level, representing the Olyroos. In a decisive turn, he later accepted the call to represent the country of his heritage, Macedonia, making his full senior debut in 2009. After his playing days, he remained connected to the sport, transitioning into coaching and nurturing the next generation of goalkeepers in Western Australia.

The first digital natives. Grew up with the internet, came of age during 9/11 and the 2008 crash. Highly educated, deeply indebted, slower to marry and buy houses. Redefined work, identity, and what it means to be an adult.
Aleks was born in 1988, placing them squarely in the Millennials. The events that shaped this generation — the internet revolution, 9/11, and the 2008 financial crisis — shaped the world they entered and the choices available to them.
