Hungary's defensive maestro who turned relentless on-ball pressure into a EuroLeague crown and a long-awaited NBA opportunity.
Ádám Hanga carved his path not with flashy scoring, but with a defensive tenacity that made him a nightmare for Europe's best wings. The Budapest native's professional journey began in his homeland before a move to Spain unlocked his potential. At Baskonia, he transformed into the continent's premier perimeter defender, a title officially recognized when he won the EuroLeague Best Defender award in 2017. That season culminated in the ultimate prize: a EuroLeague championship. His defensive prowess finally earned him a long-coveted NBA shot in his late twenties with the Sacramento Kings, making him a rare Hungarian in the league. While his North American stint was brief, Hanga returned to Europe as a complete player, adding playmaking and leadership to his defensive identity, and continues to be a cornerstone for club and the Hungarian national team, inspiring a new generation at home.
